Before you print: four things that decide whether guests scan
A card that looks good but does not scan is the most common mistake. These four checks take five minutes.
Size follows distance
Rule of thumb: the code should measure about a tenth of the scanning distance. From 30 cm that is 3 cm; a welcome sign read from 2 m needs around 20 cm.
Keep the contrast
Dark code on a light background, with the white margin around it left clear. That is why the cards here always place the code on white.
Matte beats glossy
Glossy paper and lamination reflect the phone’s flash and the venue lights. Matte paper or card stock scans reliably in the evening too.
Test with two phones
Scan the printed card with an iPhone and an Android phone before the day. If the link opens on both, it will open for your guests.

What couples ask right before the cards go to print.
Yes. You can create and download as many cards as you like, without an account and without paying. The small “snapveil.com” line at the bottom of the card can be switched off.
No. The code is a static image of your link and works for as long as the link itself does. If the gallery behind it is deleted or its storage period ends, the code leads nowhere — so check how long your gallery stays online.
The link your guests should upload to. With Snapveil every event has its own link and QR code; you can also paste the link of a shared album or your wedding website. Open it in a private browser window first to see what a guest will see.
The PDF is laid out on A4: four A6 table cards, two A5 signs or one A4 poster per sheet, with cut lines. Print at 100% scale without “fit to page”, on matte paper of 160 g/m² or more, and cut along the lines.
About 3 cm edge length is enough for a card guests pick up or read at the table. On the A6 card here the code is around 5 cm wide, which leaves a comfortable margin.
Yes. Download the code on its own as a PNG and place it in your own design, or use the A5 and A4 formats for signs. Keep the white margin around the code and do not stretch it.
No. The card is drawn in your browser; the link is not transmitted to Snapveil and not saved.
